773 million accounts affected by Collection #1 breach

The Australian Cyber Security Centre has reported a significant data breach exposing 773 million email addresses and usernames.
The data breach titled ‘Collection #1’  was made public by Australian cyber security expert Troy Hunt, who identified that a large collection of email addresses, hashed and plaintext passwords had been distributed on a known hacking forum.

There are a few simple steps you can take to help keep your information safe: 

  • Use a strong password and don’t re-use the same password on multiple websites.
  • Change your password on any accounts where you may have used the same email and password combination.
